260 GSM Polyester Fabric for Structured Layering
Midweight Coverage without Heavy Bulk
The 260 GSM construction gives the vest enough substance to support the pockets and adjustable waist while remaining easy to layer. Polyester contributes dimensional stability and practical durability for garments intended for frequent casual wear.
Surface and Dimensional Testing
Abrasion, pilling, shrinkage and heat response should be tested before sample approval. Pressing temperature also requires control because excessive heat may flatten the surface or leave impressions around seams, pocket edges and drawcord channels.
Open-Front Shape and Adjustable Waist Definition
The open front creates a clean vertical line and allows the vest to be worn over different shirt and knitwear shapes. Front-edge stabilization helps both sides remain even without curling or stretching during wear.
An internal drawcord channel adjusts the waist from relaxed to more defined. Drawcord position, channel width and finished length should be approved on body so gathering remains balanced across the front and back.
Patch-Pocket Placement and Reinforcement
Large lower pockets support the utility direction and provide practical storage. Pocket height, opening width and distance from the front edge should remain symmetrical across the size range.
Upper pocket corners receive repeated stress and require secure reinforcement. Pocket bags and surrounding seams should also remain flat after laundering without pulling the lower body out of shape.
Armhole Coverage and Layering Proportion
The sleeveless cut should provide enough armhole room for shirts and lightweight knitwear without creating excessive gaps at the side body. Shoulder width, armhole depth and chest ease need to be evaluated together during fitting.
The hip-length body can be adjusted for cropped, standard or longer utility proportions depending on the intended collection and garment combinations.
Custom Options for Private Label Programs
Private label utility-vest development may include:

- Open fronts, zippers, snaps or concealed closure systems
- Patch pockets, flap pockets or zipped pocket constructions
- Tonal embroidery, woven labels or branded hardware
- Water-repellent finishing, custom hangtags and packaging
Sample approval should confirm the fabric surface, front-edge balance, armhole coverage, drawcord function, pocket symmetry and post-wash measurements before bulk production.
