Product Details

This custom double-faced knit snap jacket combines a clean point collar with metal snap closures, vertical zipper pockets and striped rib trims. The 340 GSM double-faced knit provides enough structure to hold the waist-length silhouette while remaining softer and more flexible than a conventional woven outerwear fabric. Black body fabric with yellow contrast accents gives the style a clear varsity-inspired direction for streetwear, casual outerwear and lifestyle collections.

Main fabric 87% polyester, 10% cotton, 3% to be confirmed
Fabric weight 340 GSM
Fit Regular waist-length silhouette
Design details Point collar, metal snap front, vertical zip pockets, striped rib cuffs and hem
Suitable for Streetwear, casual outerwear, varsity-inspired ranges, travel and lifestyle collections

340 GSM Double-Faced Knit with Jacket-Like Structure

Compact Surface with Flexible Wear

The double-faced knit construction provides more body than lightweight jersey and helps the jacket maintain a clean front, collar and lower edge. Polyester supports dimensional stability, while cotton adds a softer, less technical handfeel. The finished fabric should be checked for pilling, shrinkage and surface consistency before bulk approval.

Weight Control for a Clean Waist-Length Shape

At 340 GSM, the fabric is substantial enough for a jacket silhouette without requiring the stiffness of a traditional woven shell. Finished weight and recovery should remain consistent between color lots so the body does not vary noticeably in drape or structure.

Snap-Front Construction and Placket Alignment

Metal snaps create a cleaner varsity-style front than a conventional zipper closure. Snap diameter, spacing and setting pressure should be tested against the fabric thickness to avoid visible impressions or damage around the fastening points.

The center-front edges must remain parallel when the jacket is open and fully aligned when fastened. Light reinforcement may be needed behind the snaps to distribute repeated opening stress.

Contrast Striped Rib at Cuffs and Hem

Black rib with yellow stripe accents defines the cuffs and lower edge and creates the strongest visual contrast on the garment. Rib width, stripe placement and attachment tension should remain consistent across the size range.

Body fabric and rib should be tested together for shrinkage and recovery. Excessive rib tension may pull the hem inward, while insufficient recovery can make the cuffs and lower band appear stretched after wear.

Vertical Zip Pockets and Hardware Coordination

Two vertical zipper pockets are positioned on the lower front for practical storage without adding bulky patch-pocket construction. Pocket length, opening angle and distance from the center front should remain symmetrical.

Zipper teeth, snap finish and puller color should follow one approved hardware standard. Functional testing should confirm smooth operation and sufficient reinforcement around pocket openings.

Point Collar and Varsity-Inspired Proportion

The point collar shifts the design away from a conventional rib-neck bomber and gives the jacket a cleaner casual appearance. Collar spread, point length and neckline circumference should be checked together so both sides sit evenly when the jacket is worn open.

The waist-length body works well with denim, cargo pants and casual trousers. Body length, chest ease and sleeve volume can be adjusted for regular, relaxed or oversized versions.

Custom Options for Private Label Programs

Private label double-faced knit jacket development may include:

  • Alternative double-knit structures, weights and fiber blends
  • Custom point collars, rib collars or stand-collar versions
  • Branded metal snaps, zippers and custom pullers
  • Solid, striped or contrast-color rib trims
  • Embroidery, patches, appliqué and chest logo applications
  • Custom labels, hangtags and branded packaging

Sample approval should confirm the complete fiber composition, fabric weight, snap strength, pocket alignment, collar balance, rib recovery and post-wash measurements before bulk production begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the snap front be replaced with a zipper?

Yes. The jacket can be developed with a full zipper, concealed zipper, button front or another approved closure system.

Can the rib stripe colors be customized?

Yes. Rib base color, stripe width and contrast colors can be developed according to the collection palette or brand identity.

Can the jacket be made oversized?

Yes. Chest width, shoulder position, sleeve volume and body length can be adjusted for regular, relaxed or oversized proportions.

What should be confirmed before manufacturing?

Confirm the missing 3% fiber content, finished GSM, snap specification, zipper hardware, collar dimensions, rib recovery, shrinkage and finished measurements.

Confirm Fiber Content, Hardware and Rib Recovery

Review the sample for collar balance, snap alignment, pocket operation, sleeve mobility, rib tension and finished body length. For sampling and quotation, provide the complete fiber composition, target quantity, size range, preferred fit, hardware finish, rib colors, logo artwork, labels, packaging details and available technical files.
