Drape through the Overlap and Ruffled Edge
The medium-light Tencel fabric falls naturally around the body and supports movement through the asymmetric front panel. Its smooth surface helps the ruffle sit softly rather than appearing stiff, while the 190 GSM weight provides more coverage than a lightweight sheer summer quality.
Wash, Shrinkage and Seam Stability
Shrinkage, seam slippage, skew and surface appearance should be tested before pattern grading. Approved washing and pressing conditions are important for maintaining the waistband circumference, overlap width, skirt length and ruffle shape after laundering.
Asymmetric Wrap Construction and Coverage Control
The front panel crosses the body on a diagonal, creating the visual effect of a wrap skirt. Waist fit, overlap depth and front-panel angle should be approved together so the skirt provides sufficient coverage while walking and sitting.
The overlap should remain balanced across the size range. Increasing only the waist measurement without adjusting the front-panel width may reduce coverage in larger sizes or shift the curved edge away from the intended position.
Gathered Ruffle and Curved Hem Finishing
The ruffle follows the curved wrap edge and continues around the lower hem. Gathering ratio should be controlled so the trim has visible movement without becoming bulky or uneven.
Rolled hemming, narrow hemming or another lightweight finish may be selected according to the approved sample. Stitch tension should remain soft enough to prevent the curved edge from twisting, waving or pulling upward.
Side Tie Placement and Waist Fit
The self-fabric tie creates an adjustable detail at the side waist and reinforces the resortwear direction. Tie width, length and attachment position should be checked on body so the bow remains secure without adding excessive bulk at the hip.
An internal fastening may be added during development when greater security is required. Any hidden button, snap or tie should remain flat beneath the overlapping panel.
Tropical Print Repeat and Panel Direction
The white palm-leaf motif is distributed across the blue body, ruffle and tie pieces. Print scale, repeat direction and color contrast should be approved through strike-offs before bulk production.
Priority motif matching may be specified around the waistband, overlap or tie, although precise matching can increase material consumption and cutting requirements.
