Product Details

This sand-washed modal scuba two-way zip hoodie combines a smooth, softly structured body with a clean hood, discreet welt pockets and ribbed cuffs and hem. The double-ended front zipper allows the lower opening to be adjusted while the shoulder and chest fit remain unchanged. Its deep navy surface works well for premium casualwear, travel collections and coordinated modal-scuba sets.

Main composition 36% modal, 55% polyester, 9% spandex
Fabric weight 330 GSM
Fabric structure Sand-washed modal-blend scuba knit
Fit direction Regular-fit full-zip hooded jacket
Key details Two-way metal zipper, clean hood, welt pockets, rib cuffs and rib hem

330 GSM Modal Scuba with a Smooth Sand-Washed Finish

Softness Balanced with Shape Retention

Modal contributes a smoother touch, while polyester supports dimensional stability and a clean outer surface. At 330 GSM, the scuba has enough body to hold the hood, zipper line and pocket openings without the bulk of heavy fleece. Sand washing should produce an even handfeel across all garment panels.

Stretch Recovery Through High-Movement Areas

The 9% spandex content provides substantial flexibility through the shoulders, elbows and body. Recovery, seam extension and permanent growth should be checked after wear and laundering. Panels need adequate relaxation before cutting to reduce twisting and uneven finished length.

Two-Way Zipper Alignment and Front Hem Balance

A double-slider zipper increases wearing flexibility but requires precise front-panel alignment. Zipper length, tape stability and bottom insertion must be confirmed before bulk sewing. Both front hems should meet evenly when the zipper is closed, and the lower slider should move without pulling the fabric.

Hood Shape and Neckline Stability

Maintaining Symmetry Around the Face

The hood should sit evenly around the neckline and retain enough depth without collapsing at the crown. Center-back seams and front hood edges need equal length. Stabilization may be required where the hood joins the zipper neckline.

Managing Fabric and Hardware Weight

Scuba fabric and metal hardware add weight around the front neck. Seam allowances, zipper tape and hood attachment must be balanced so the neckline does not pull forward or ripple beside the zipper.

Welt Pockets and Ribbed Finishing

Welt pocket openings should remain flat and symmetrical while allowing comfortable hand access. Pocket bags need adequate depth without adding front-body bulk. Rib cuffs and hem should recover after stretching, with attachment seams that stay flexible and free from waviness.

Sand-Wash Consistency and Bulk Testing

Sand washing may alter shade, softness and surface appearance. Bulk standards should define the approved navy tone and acceptable panel variation. Testing should cover pilling, abrasion, colorfastness, shrinkage, zipper performance and stretch recovery after finishing.

ODM Options for Modal Scuba Zip Hoodies

ODM hoodie development may include:

  • Alternative body lengths, fits and hood depths
  • One-way or two-way zipper constructions
  • Welt, inseam or patch pocket variations
  • Matching flare pants, joggers and scuba separates
  • Custom labels, zipper pulls, hangtags and packaging

Buyer FAQs for Sand-Washed Scuba Hoodies

Does the fabric provide strong stretch?

Yes. The 9% spandex content provides substantial flexibility, so recovery and seam-extension testing are important.

Can the two-way zipper be changed?

Yes. The style can use a standard one-way zipper, concealed zipper or customized metal puller.

Will sand washing create shade variation?

Some variation is possible, so an approved bulk shade range should be confirmed before production.

What should be confirmed before manufacturing?

Confirm zipper alignment, hood balance, rib recovery, pocket symmetry, wash shade and finished body length.

Approving Zipper Balance Before Hood Depth and Body Length Are Released

Review the sample for front alignment, hood symmetry, neckline stability, pocket flatness, rib recovery and post-wash measurements. For sampling and quotation, provide the quantity, size range, wash reference, zipper standard, target fit, branding details and technical specifications.
