Product Details

This ribbed modal-blend drawstring midi skirt combines a charcoal vertical texture with an elastic waist, tonal drawcord, practical side pockets and double side slits. The straight silhouette stays relaxed through the hip, while the rib structure adds more definition than plain jersey. It works well for casualwear, travel collections and coordinated knit separates.

Main composition 40% modal, 54% polyester, 6% spandex
Fabric weight 320 GSM
Fabric structure Vertical rib stretch knit
Fit direction Relaxed straight midi silhouette
Key details Elastic drawstring waist, side pockets and double side slits

320 GSM Modal-Blend Rib Knit with Controlled Drape

Softness Supported by Dimensional Stability

Modal contributes a smoother handfeel and helps the skirt fall cleanly through the body. Polyester supports shape retention in the long modal-rich garment. Six percent spandex adds stretch and recovery through the waist and hip.

Maintaining the Vertical Rib Appearance

Rib spacing and direction should remain consistent across the front, back and pocket areas. Cutting alignment is important because tilted ribs can make the skirt appear twisted. Pressing pressure should remain moderate so the raised channels are not flattened near seams and hems.

Elastic Waistband and Tonal Drawcord Performance

The waistband should stretch comfortably and recover without becoming tighter than the skirt body. Elastic width, insertion ratio and stitch channels need approval in the fitted sample. The tonal drawcord should move smoothly, resist twisting and remain secure after laundering.

Side Pockets Without Distorting the Hip Line

Pocket openings should lie flat against the skirt and allow easy hand access. Pocket depth, opening angle and reinforcement points must suit the 320 GSM fabric. Excess pocket bulk can interrupt the straight silhouette or pull the rib direction away from the side seam.

Double Side Slits and Lower-Hem Stability

Supporting Movement in a Straight Midi Shape

Side slits provide walking ease without widening the entire skirt. Slit height should be graded carefully for consistent movement and coverage. Each slit top requires reinforcement because this point receives repeated stress during walking and sitting.

Controlling Vertical Growth and Hem Level

Long stretch-knit panels may relax under their own weight. Fabric should rest before cutting, followed by a hanging test before final length is sealed. The front, back and side-seam drops must remain balanced after washing and relaxation.

Custom Options for Ribbed Knit Midi Skirts

Custom skirt manufacturing may include:

  • Alternative skirt lengths, slit heights and hem widths
  • Tonal, contrast or internal drawcord constructions
  • Different rib scales, surface finishes and seasonal colors
  • Matching tops and coordinated knit separates
  • Woven labels, hangtags and customized packaging

Buyer FAQs for Modal-Blend Ribbed Skirts

Will the skirt become longer during wear?

Some vertical relaxation is possible, so hanging and wash tests should be approved.

Can the side slits be shortened or removed?

Yes. Slit height and construction can be adjusted according to the intended coverage and movement.

Does the rib fabric require pattern-direction control?

Yes. Rib alignment should remain vertical and consistent across all visible panels.

What should be confirmed before manufacturing?

Priority checks include GSM, rib direction, waist recovery, pocket stability, slit reinforcement, vertical growth and finished length.

Aligning the Rib Direction Before Slit Height and Final Length Are Released

Review the sample for waistband comfort, pocket shape, rib alignment, slit strength, hem level and post-wash recovery. For sampling and quotation, provide the quantity, size range, color standard, target length, slit requirement, branding details and technical specifications.
