Sand-Washed Modal Interlock with a Softer Surface
300 GSM Modal-Polyester Interlock
The fabric uses 75% Modal and 25% polyester in a 300 GSM interlock construction. The compact double-knit structure gives the top a smooth face and body than single jersey. Modal contributes softness and a fluid hand, while polyester supports dimensional stability through wear and laundering.
How the Sand Wash Changes the Hand
Sand washing gives the outer surface a softer, relaxed hand and can reduce an overly polished appearance. The approved wash standard should control softness, shade and surface tone without weakening seam stability. Because no elastane is specified, comfort still depends on the interlock’s natural give and ease through the shoulders, chest and armholes.
Zipper Alignment and Panel Symmetry
The front zipper creates a strong vertical line, making insertion accuracy especially visible. The zipper tape should remain flat from collar to hem without twisting. Collar height, zipper length and top-stop position also need to work together so the neckline closes cleanly and does not press against the neck.
Raglan-style shoulder seams and curved torso panels shape the upper body. Left-right seam placement, sleeve pitch and underarm balance should be checked during sampling and in-line inspection. These controls help keep the approved fit consistent through bulk production.
Applications for Refined Active-Inspired Collections
The short sleeves and smooth surface suit studio warm-ups, travel, golf-inspired styling and polished athleisure ranges. It can be paired with leggings, straight pants, skorts or relaxed trousers. Because the fabric is substantial and not specified as moisture-wicking, the style is better positioned for light activity and lifestyle wear than high-intensity training.
Custom Options for Zip-Front Tops
Private label activewear development may include:
- Custom body colors and coordinated zipper tape or pullers
- Adjustments to fabric weight, hand feel and surface finish
- Changes to collar height, sleeve length, body length and panel placement
- Alternative seam finishes and internal zipper construction
- Heat-transfer logos, embroidery, labels, hangtags and branded packaging
Development can follow a tech pack, reference garment or revised fit brief. Changes to the interlock weight, panel lines or neckline should be reviewed in a new sample because each adjustment affects fit, seam balance and zipper behavior.
Product Development FAQs
What does the sand wash change?
It softens the surface and gives the interlock a more muted, broken-in appearance. The final effect should be confirmed against an approved wash standard.
Can the collar and zipper be customized?
Yes. Collar height, zipper length, tape color, puller finish and internal construction can be adjusted during development.
What should be checked before bulk approval?
Key checks include zipper flatness, collar comfort, shoulder movement, panel symmetry, sleeve balance and wash stability.
Confirming Wash Hand and Zip Alignment
Before production is confirmed, the sample should be reviewed for wash hand, surface consistency, zipper alignment, collar position, shoulder mobility and panel matching. For an accurate quotation, provide the target quantity, size range, preferred colors, zipper specification, branding method and any technical files.
